The following two pie charts show the results of a survey into the popularity of various leisure activities among European adults in 1985 and 1995.

A glance at two pie charts gave the change of the expenditure in Canadian family annually between 1972 and 2002.

The main household expenditures in Canada were Foods and Cars in both 1972 and 2002, but both two items went toward different trends. The rest categories were smaller, included Furniture, Petrol, Restaurants, Books and Computers, thus the proportion changed slightly in the past thirty years.

According to the data, the families in Canada annually took much money on Cars and foods from 1972 to 2002, over half of spending were used on Cars and Food in a year. The rate of Food was 39%-the highest spending in 1972, but dramatically dropped to 14% in 2002; whereas the spending of Car noticeably soared from 22% to 40% and hit the highest level among all the categories in 2002. In addition, the items of Computers and Restaurants had upward trends from 3% to 11% and 8% to 14%; the item of Petrol, Furniture and Books followed downward trends from 10% to 9%, 11% to 9% and 7% to 3%, respectively.
