The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two different countries.Cambridge 6 test 1 task 1

The line chart reveals how much water was used for agriculture, industries, and homes globally from 1900 to 2000. The bar chart depicts water utilization in Brazil and Congo in 2000.

Overall, the demand for water, in the given sectors increased steadily over the century. While the highest amount of water was used for crops, homes consumed the least. However, Brazil showed a greater consumption of water than that of the Congo.

In 1900, almost 500km3 was used for farming and it steadily increased to approximately 1000km3 in 1950. After that, the agriculture use of water significantly went up, hitting the highest point of nearly 3000km3 in 2000. In contrast, Industrial and domestic use of water stood at 100km3 initially and it remained almost the same till 1950. From 1950 to 2000, industrial use inclined dramatically to nearly 1000km3, being the second highest, and at the homes, it rose slightly to 500km3.
On the other hand, Brazil with 176 million population and 26500km2 are of irrigated land used 359km3 water individually, whereas the Congo had only 5.2 million citizens and 100km3 land for irrigation and it utilized only 8km3 of water, which is far less than that of Brazil.
