The graph represents data given in a report of 2008 which shows the usage of 6 types of energy in the USA from the year 1980 until 2030 along with future estimations.
Overall, the demand of petrol and oil is significant and is forecasted to rise with some fluctuations. Furthermore, consumption of all energy types are projected to rise except the hydropower one.
As the graph shows, the usage of petroleum products started at 35 quadrillion units (3q) in 1980 since then it has rose steadily with some fluctuations. This figure is projected to increase gradually to just over 45q in the next 10 years. Similarly, around 16 of coal energy was used in 1980 which has been estimated to increase to a high of 30q in 2030. In terms of hydropower energy, it was least consumed in the USA and the graph indicated that its usage will be limited to around 3q in the future.
On the other hand, the consumption of natural energy started at the figure of 30q in the past followed by a decrease to around 16q until 1985. By contrast, this figure experienced considerable growth to just below 25q in the year 2015 after which it will remain constant until 2030. With regard to nuclear and solar energy, their usage was only around 4q in 1980 and has been forecasted to rise slightly to around 7q and 51 respectively.
