The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030.

The line chart compares the consumption and projections of energy by six different fuel types in USA from 1980 to 2030.
Overall, it can be seen that petrol and oil, coal and natural gas are the most used source during the period, whereas nuclear, solar/wind hydropower were and will be there least implemented energy sources.
Numerically speaking, petrol and oil sources fell by 5 quadrillion units in the first 5 years of a period with initial figures at 35 quadrillion units, and then it followed by a gradual rise and presumedly will keep a steady trend until the end of a period reaching a peak at almost a half in 2030. Natural gas sources began the period with 20 quadrillion units and oscillated until 2015, however, it will remain steady at roughly a quarter quadrillion units. Although, coal sources accounted for about 16 quadrillion units in 1980, there will be a sharp escalation to around 30 quadrillion units of energy by 2030.
According to other sources, the usage of nuclear power energy will be doubled by the end of a period compared to the initial figures from approximately 4 to 8 quadrillion units, respectively. After a slight drop, solar/wind sources will recover the numbers, and seemingly will go up to 5 quadrillion units. Hydropower's consumption fluctuated, ranging 3 and 5 quadrillion units and will be very same by 2030 as it was in 2010 at nearly 4 quadrillion units.
