The graph below gives the information about car ownership in Britain from 1971 to 2007.

The change in the UK car ownership in four different categories from 1971 to 2007 is displayed in the line graph, shown in percentage.

Overall, the rate of Britain population having one car was the highest. However, that of British owning two or more cars experienced an upward trend, and others showed some changes.

Initially, the vast majority did not have cars, and there accounted for over slightly two-fifths having only one. Furthermore, the proportion of owners hiring two these vehicles was about a fourth of the latter, while that of three or more these such transports stood at the lowest, a fifth of maximum data recorded in 1971.

Eventually, the figure for no car ownership witnessed a dramatic decline to below a third, sharing almost the same percentage with that for people owning two cars increasing significantly. When it came to the British obtaining merely one private car, this rate remained stable, being the largest. Lastly, although a growth was revealed by the rest figure, it was still below one in ten.
