The graph chart provides information about employment trends in various spheres of economy in the USA between 1930 and 2010.
There are two basic general trends: downward and upward. As regards the first, the employment rate for the fishing, farming and foresting was down dramatically over given period, falling from almost 75% in 1930 to just under 5% in 2010.
By contrast the employment opportunities for the other three industry sectors went up by varying degrees. There was a gradual rise in technical forces during the first four decades, followed by a substantial increase from approximately 10% in 1970 to just over one third in 2010. Furthermore, the industrial workforce experienced a sudden uprise from almost 0% in 1930-1960 to 35% in 2000 and remained same there till 2010. Meanwhile, the number of sales and office workers rose up steadily during a period with insignificant fluctuations, the employment in other services continued to stagnate for over 80 years except for the modest rise in 1940.
Overall, the USA employment market was mostly dependant on farming, fishing and foresting in the first half of the 20th century. However, in recent years there was an increasing demand on industrial and technical employees.
