The graph below shows the amount of electricity produced from different energy sources to supply the city of New York between 1980 to 2000
The given illustration provides how much electricity that were from coal, natural, petroleum supply for New York city from 1980 to 2000.
It is clear that the amount of electricity produced from petroleum was highest in the city of New York over the period of 20 years.
There was a fluctuation in the figure of petroleum that generated electricity between 1980 and 2000, particularly it had increase from the beginning of the period to 1985 then it dropped by about 350kw in 1990. Furthermore, within 10 years from 1990 to 2000, more people tended to use petroleum than in the past, about over 700 kw in 2000. Besides, from 1985 to 2000, the amount of electricity from natural gas went up while the opposite was true for coal, from about 100kw to 500kw and from 300kw to nearly 200kw.
At the beginning of the given period, people showed their preferences to using coal rather than natural gas before the percentage of energy produced from natural gas and coal to provide New York had the same stable in 1900, about over 200kw. In addition to, in the continued period, the amount of natural gas was high in comparison with those of coal, about 500kw and 200kw in 2000.
