Sweden which ranked second on account of about 9 tonnes in 1976 raised slightly over 10 tonnes for a decade but dropped by 3 tonnes for the next 10 years and showed a steady decrease over the rest period.
Now turning our attention to Italy and Portugal, the overall trend for both countries are the same. Italy started with the figure slightly over 4 tonnes. Even though Italy pointed out a considerable increase for the first decade and scored a gradual rise between in 1977 and 1997, it stayed the same for the latest 10 years. Portugal held the lowest ranking between them at about 1 ton and had shown a steady growth over the whole period taking over Italy.

Portugal demonstrated an upward trend so that we can check out the gaps between four countries had finally decreased.
