Essay topics:

The graph below shows consumers' average annual expenditure on cell phone, national and
international fixed-line and services in America between 2001 and 2010.

The line graph illustrates average yearly expenditure of consumers on three selected types of services, namely cell phone, national and international fixed line services over a period of 9 years, starting from 2001.
Overall, there was an upward trend in the expenditure on mobile phone, while the opposite was true for that of national fixed line services during the period. It is also noticeable that the amount of money spent on international fixed line remain stable over the period shown.
In 2001, roughly 700$ was spent on national fixed line services, in comparison with the figure for mobile phone services, at about 200$. In the next five years, the expense of cell phone increased to approximately 500$, whereas the expenditure on national fixed line experienced a fall of 200$ to 500$. At the end of the period, the amount of money for cell phone reached a peak at around 750$. Meanwhile, only 400$ was spent on national fixed line in 2010.
Starting at roughly 250$ during the first year of the period, the expenditure on international fixed line services fluctuated at around 300$ three years later. For the rest of the period, its figure remained unchanged, at about 300$, which was the lowest among three types of services.
