The following graph shows the consumption of fish and different kind of meat over the year 1979 to 2004 in European countries.
In the early year of 1979 beef was popular among the others. It was consumed about 200 grams per person per week while chicken and lamb remain equal between 150 to 170 grams consumed by a person every week over the course of 25 years beef had a huge downward trend coming down to about 150 gram consumed by people every single week.
Along side lamb and fish also dropped by a certain amount. Although fish was the least popular food it still remained the least consumed food per person every week. Chicken on the other hand had a major breakout reaching up to 250 grams of chicken consumed by a person every single week.
Overall this graph shows how chicken became the popular food while beef had a significant loss in their popularity.
