Looking from the chart, agriculture and manufacturing composed the majoritory of the economy in the 1900, the percentage is 50% and 46%. In the year 1950, the contribution of business and financial services increased significantly, which is approximately 10%. In the mean time, agriculture and manufacturing remained the dominent influence. There is a dramatic dwindle in the percentage of agriculture in 1975, that is merely 10%. the contribution of business and financial services increased to 25%. Both agriculture and manufacturing decreased in the contribution to economy in the UK in 2000, which is 3% and 15% respectively.
An obvious trend is that the business and financial services increased sharply in last century and it dominated the economy in the end of last century. On the contrary, manufacturing dwindled generally in the twentieth century . Agriculture wielded significant influence in the early half of last century and decreased its contribution drastly in the second half of the last century.
Overall, the bar chart demonstrates how the three sectors changed their contribution to UK economy in the twentieth century.
