As can be seen from the chart, while the proportion of commuter who travel by car was highest in four transportation, others commuted by bus was the most popular in 1960 and minority of people who commuted by train and tube was lower than four type transportation during the period shown.
It can be clearly seen that commuters by train fluctuated from nearly 20% in 1960 to above 25% in 2000 while tube of transport showed a decline trend from approximately 27% to 25% within projected periods.
In contrast, the proportion of car increased significantly from over 5% in 1960 to approximately 37% in 2000. However, bus transportation in European city, there was a significant decrease from nearly 40% in 1960 to 15% over 40 years.
