The graph is given below elucidates how different modes of transportation are used to travel to and from work in a European city in the three comparative years. There are four categories of transport used by people such as train, car, tube, and bus.
Overall, In the year 1960, the trains were used by 19% of travelers while the tube was the second highest used to travel as it contributes to 28%. The most preferable vehicle is the bus which had 39% ratio of the people. In contrary, the cars are not as much used and had the lowest preference.
The changes come after two decades in the year 1980, the development of trains in European city increase its usage up to 8%. In this addition, the tube was slightly decreased and the car has faced a rapid increase in their usage. The buses are also falling down by 10%.
Lastly, In the year 2000, all the circumstances have huge changes i.e. cars become the most used vehicle and buses go to the least. The trains were quite stumbled to 21% and tubes are raised by 3% which shows the growing rate of popularity of private vehicle to travel and lesser demand for public transport.
