The graph illustrates the factors that polluted the air between 1990 and 2005 in the UK. In general, total air pollutants decreased sharply in this time. In addition, the industry was the highest impact to air pollutants of all time in this period.

By contrast, the figure for transport was the only factor that increased in this period, it produced about 0.9 million tonnes in 1990 and rose by a small amount to 1 million tonnes in 2005.
