The bar graph represents the proportion of female unemployment in the countries that make up the United Kingdom from 2013 to 2014. There has been a small decrease in female unemployment rates from 2013 to 2014, except Scotland.
England had the highest female unemployment rates, with 6.8% in 2013, but which decreased by 0.3% by 2014. In comparison, Scotland was the only country which had an increasing percentage of unemployed women. In 2013, it had 6.3% of women out of work and this figure rose to 6.7% by 2014, making it the country with the highest female unemployment rate of the four countries.
In 2013, Northern Ireland had 5.6% of women were unemployed, whereas Wales had the lowest female unemployment rate of 5.4%. The female unemployment rates for Wales and Scotland experienced the equivalent figure of decline of 0.4% each for two consecutive years, from 2013 to 2014.
