The graph below shows how money was spent on different forms of entertainment over a five-year period.

The graph reveals information about expenses for five different types of recreational activities in Asia, Europe and United States in 1995 and 2000.
It is clear that the amount of money which people spent for recreational activities in each area increased throughout the entire period. Overall, Americans always spent more money than the total of Asians and Europeans and Asians always was the least. In addition, publishing, television and music were the most popular entertainments, whilst cinema and video were the lesser forms.
In 1995, Americans spent totally $184 billion in recreational activities. The figures for Europe and Asia were significantly lower, at $97 billion and $67 billion respectively. Obviously, the expenses for cinema, video and music in three areas were approximately $20-$25 billion and the Americans spent much more money on publishing and television than Europeans and Asians.
By 2000, while the expenditures of Europeans and Asians rose gradually, the figure for Americans was higher, at $257 billion, mostly doubled Europeans and more than total of Asians and Europeans.
