The graph below shows the number of Asia elephants between 1997 and 2004

The bart chart gives data about how many elephants were counted in 9 different Asian
countries over 2 separate years 1997 and 2000.

Overall, the numbers of elephants in all nations were decreased over the period given
(except Cambodia). It is also noticeable that India was the most popular living place of
elephants while Thailand had the biggest change in the quantity of this kind of animal.

As can be seen from the graph, in 1997, approximately 10000 elephants lived in India which twice as much as the number of this one in Myanmar - the second largest elephant habitat. This was followed by Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Laos with around 1000 elephants, while Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Thailand had the noticeable higher quantity of roundly 3000 elephants.

After 7 years, the figure for elephants in India decreased by nearly 2000, similar to Malaysia and Thailand. In contrast, a minimal decline was seen in the other nations Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Laos and China. Cambodia was the only country experienced an upward trend in the quantity of elephants in 2004.
