The line graph illustrates the change in the quantity of books read by males and females at Burnaby Public Library between 2011 and 2014.
As can be seen from the graph, at the started point in 2011, the number of books read by women was almost double that by men. 20 years later, in 2013, male reader ‘s books caught up with women reader’s books at 10000 books, then reaching to the peak at 14000 books in 2014, more than 1.75 times that by women.
The graph also shows a continuously sharply increase in books read by men, slightly growth between 2011 and 2012, followed by a rapid constantly soar to 1000 books and 14000 books in 2013 and 2014. Meanwhile, there was a significant fluctuation in books read by the female during the 4 years period, steady growth from 5000 books in 2011 to double at 10000 books in 2013, then plummeted to the bottom at 7000 books in 2014.
In conclusion, despite of having higher beginning state, women have a downward trend of reading books than men, throughout the 4 years period from 2011 to 2014.
