In 1962, the proportion of Italian people immigrating to Australia was highest, at 40%. The figures for the UK and Vietnam were much lower, at only 10%. About 8% of people from New Zealand. The figure for India was lowest, at approximately 3%.
In 1982, the proportion of Italian people immigrating to Australia decreased twofold. Similarly, the figure for New Zealand reduced by 3%. By contrast, the percentage of immigrants from the UK increased to 17%, while the figures for India and Vietnam increased fivefold and rose threefold, respectively.
By 2002, the proportion of people from Italy moving to Australia had decreased to 15%. Similarly, the figures for the UK and Vietnam had reduced to under 15%. By contrast, there were no significant changes in the figures for New Zealand and India.
