The graph below shows the percentage of population in cities since 1970s with projection to 2030

The given line graph illustrates how many people lived in urban areas in the USA, Korea, China and India from 1970 to 2030, and also give prediction for 2030.
Overall, there are increases in the proportions of city population in all countries examined, with the most significant rise seen in the figures for Korea and China. In addition, the percentage of urbanites in the USA was consistently the highest throughout the period.

70% citizens in the USA lived in cities in 1970, with a subsequent increase to 90% 40 years later. Similarly, but to greater extent, the figure for Korea grew up from 40% to approximately 85%, widing the gap with the other two nations. The percentage of city dwellers in China and India sustained a period of stability for 20 years and 10 years, respectively. By 2010, the former saw a sharp increase to 60% while the latter rose gradually to reach 35%.

By 2030, the share of urban population in Korea is expected to equal that of the USA at 90%. By contrast, the percentage of those city inhabitants in China and India will experience a moderate rise of 5% to 65% and around 40%, for each.
