Essay topics:

The graph below shows the popularity of different fast foods in Britain and the trends in their consumption. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The line diagram demonstrates the changes in demand for Hamburger, Fish & Chips, and Pizza in Britain over 20 years between 1970 and 1990.

It is immediately apparent from the figure that Pizza was the most demanded food in Britain in the 1970s. The demand for Pizza in 1970 was around 300 units. However, it started to fall, and after a significant decline, it reached a value of 200 in 1985 before it started to grow gradually.

The most striking fact about this figure is the change in the demand for Fish & Chips. Initially, its consumption was as low as below 100 units which rose marginally in the first ten years (1970 to 1980), reaching a value of around 150 in 1098s where it escalated exponentially and hit the high of 500 units that made it the most eaten food in Britain.

Finally, Hamburgers was the least consumed food among this triode in 1070. The demand for Hamburgers rose slowly from 1970 to 1985 (from bellow 100 units in 1970 to around 150 units in 1985. In 1985 the demand surged dramatically and outnumbered the demand for Pizza in 1990 by approximately 100 units (demand for Pizza was around 100 and Hamburger was around 200 units).

Overall, in 1970 Pizza was the most consumed food in Britain that became the least demanded food at the end of the period. In contrast, Fish & Chips emerged as the most consumed food in the 1990s.
