The line graph provides the information about goods transportation of UK from 1974 to 2002 by four given types of transport: road, water, rail and pipeline.
As is clearly shown by the graph that there was a similar upward trend in transporting by road and water, while that for rail and pipeline had almost no differences in the given years.
To begin, the amount of goods transported by road was fluctuated between 70 million tonnes and almost 80 million tonnes in the first 20 years, but then rose remarkably and reach its highest point at 98 million tonnes, which also the highest quantity in given factors. After a significant growth in the first 8-year, the figure for water experienced a plateau until 1994, which led to a climb to nearly 65 million tonnes.
There was a slight drop of approximately 10% from 1974 to 1986 in the amount of transporting by rail before a fluctuation around 40 million tonnes in 2002. As for goods transported by pipeline show a noticeable rise with no decline in the given period, peaked at 20 million tonnes in 2002.
