The line graph given illustrates the information about how many quantities were carried by four categories, namely road, water, rail, a pipeline in the UK over the course of 28 years, from 1974 to 2002.
As it can be seen from the line graph the percentage of using rail to transmit good saw a fluctuation while the figure for others in the UK is an upward trend over the period.
In 1974, there was about 70 million of using transportation by road, while just under 5 million of that by pipeline. There was the same in taking produces by water and rail, at 40 million.
Over 28 years, the produces were carried by road in the UK grew considerably before it reached a peak in 2002, about 100 million. The figure of water saw a slight oscillation before going up in 2002, around 70 million. This was the same pattern as the pipeline. This rose dramatically, at approximately 20 million. By contrast, there was a sharp decline in using rail, around 30 million before rising slightly, about 40 million in 2004.
