The graph illustrated the percentages of the UK people spending time on radio and television during the day in 1992.
Basically, the percentage of television audience in UK out-weighted that of radio audience in most of the time of a day. The number of people watching television increased sharply from 6:00am to 8:00am (almost 30%) then slowly decreased to below 20% at around 1:30pm. The figure remained steadily till about 3:00pm before a dramatic rise to reach the peak of nearly 50% at 7:00pm. From 10:00pm afterwards, the number steeply dropped till 6:00am the next day.
In regard to radio audience, the percentage went up slowly from 6:00am to 8:00am then kept stable before a sudden rise to the highest rate of almost 20% which was nearly the same as that of television audience at around 1:30pm. From 1:30pm to 6:00pm, the figure slightly fluctuated and started to go down gradually until 6:00am the next day.
In summary, in comparison with radio, the UK people still preferred watching television during the day.
