The line graph illustrates the expenditure on books from 1995 to 2005 in four countries.

According to the graph, it is clearly evident that the money spent on books in four different countries had an increase over the time frame. In particular, the German always spend the highest expenditure on books compared to other countries.

The amount of money spent on books in Germany grew considerably by 10 million dollars from 80 million to above 90 million between 1995 and 1999. It saw a gradual decrease to 85 million USD before going up rapidly in 2003 then ended up at 95 million at the end of the period. Despite fluctuating slightly at the beginning of the period, spending on books by Italy climbed significantly and reaching a peak at over 60 million in 2005.

The expenditure on books in both France and Australia witnessed an increase over the period of 10 years. In 1995, French spent 55 million on books and it went up throughout the time frame reaching a peak at 75 million in 2005. A similar pattern could be seen in the money spent on books by the Australian, as it rose rapidly from 30 million to above 70 million within 10 years.
