The graph below shows the amount of money spent on books in Germany France Italy and Austria between 1995 and 2005

The given line graph illustrates how much money people spent on books in four different European countries, Germany, France, Italy and Austria respectively over a period of 10 year, starting from 1995.

Overall, it is obvious that all four countries see an upward trend over the period shown. Besides, the figure for Germany was highest.

To begin with Germany, the amount of money spent on books rose slightly from 80 to 90 million dollars from 1995 to 1999. Moreover, there was a slow decrease in the expenditure for books in this countries beetween 1999 and 2003. However, this figure go up constantly in the phase of 2003 to 2005 and peaked at 95 millon dollars in 2005. In France, the year 1995 witnessed a continuos growth from 55 to 75 milion dollars in the amount of money spent on books to 2005.

In terms of Italy, a slight growth of 5 million dollars was witnessed in the amount of money spent on books beetween 1995 and 1997, after which the year 1999 saw a slow decline of 10 million dollars in this figure. In contrast, during a 6-year period, starting from 1999, this figure for the mentioned countries grow continuosly by 15 million dollars and reached a peak of about 60 million dollars in 2005. Additionally, a constant increase from 30 to 40 milion dollars was seen in the amount of money spent on books in Austria from 1995 to 1999, and this was followed by the stable stay in this figure in the year 2001. On the other hand, there was a dramatic growth of 30 million dollars in the amount of money spent on books in 2005.
