The graph shows estimated oil production capacity for several Gulf countries between 1990 and 2010.
The bar chart illustrates the amount of oil produced by different seven countries over a two decade period.
Overall, there were upward trends for all six countries except for Qatar whose this figure experienced slight fluctuation over the period. Another interesting point is that Saudi Arabia made up the largest proportion compared to the others.
Looking at details, in 1990, Saudi Arabia ranked the first place with over 8 million of oil barrels per day which was nearly tripled the amount of oil produced by Iran at that time, at 3 millions of barrels. This figures for Iraq, Kuwait and UAE were similarly at around 2 million of oil barrels a day. Meanwhile the amount of oil manufactured in Qatar just contributed a negligible part, at nearly 1 million of barrel a day. In 2000, the quantity of oil produced in UAE stayed unchanged while other countries witnessed a gentle improvement in their oil productions.
In 2005, there were marginal more oil manufactured in Iraq, Kuwait and UAE at similarly 3 million of oil barrels each compared to 4 million of oil barrels in Iran which has been remained unchanged since 2000. However, all four countries reached the finishing point at 4 million of oil barrels in 2010. Saudi Arabia saw a dramatic jump in 2005, which was 3 million of oil barrels higher as opposed to its figure in 2005 then reached the peak at over 14 million of oil barrels at the end of the period, remain the first place successfully. By contrast this figure for Qatar fall down slightly over the last decade, finally returned the initial point in 2010.
