The chart illustrates how many international conferences were held in three cities between 1965 and 2010.
Overall, despite some fluctuations, there was a decrease in the number of international conferences in city A and city B, while the figures for city C saw a sharp increase.
35 global conferences were held in city A in 1965, with a significant decline to hit a low of 20 meetings in 1975. This figure then saw some wild fluctuations, ending the period at 20 conferences in 2010. Similar changes, but to a lesser extent, can be seen in the figures for city B, which started at 30 international meetings in 1965, followed by some mild variations, before falling to only 25 conferences in 2010.
By stark contrast, there were no conferences in city C during the first year of the period examined, but this figure then increased considerably to reach 27 meetings in 1995, followed by a drop to 25 meetings in 2005 and a final rise to 30 meetings in the last year of the period.
