The following 20 years witnessed a considerable decline in the figure for White-Black TV and Color TV, at 20,000 Yen and approximately 60,000 Yen respectively in 1983. By contrast, average wage each month accounted for under 20,000 Yen in 1954. And then the amount of average salary rose gradually to about 30,000 Yen by 1973 before overtaking price of color TV to reach below 70,000 Yen in 1983.
Overall, there was an opposite movement in the average wage of Japanese and the changes in the cost of black and white TV and colored TV over the 30-year period.
