The graph shows the proportions of unemployment and the number of citizens leaving Ireland between 1988 and 2008
The graph illustrates the differences and changes in the proportions of unemployment and the number of citizens leaving Ireland, over a two-decade period between 1988 and 2008. Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there were upward trends in both surveyed categories. Noticeably, the figures in the beginning of the period dominated the researched market.
In particular, when it comes to unemployment rate, the percentage of people stood at about 17% in 1988, which accounted for the highest score. At this point, the given graph witnessed a significant decrease to approximately 8% in 1998, which was half in comparison with that in 1988. Afterwards, the figure declined slightly to below 6% and remained stable at this percentage in many years, which constantly occupied the smallest proportion. After that, the percentage finished at exactly 6% in 2008.
In terms of residents relocating from Ireland, a considerable fall from around 60000 people in 1988 to 30000 people in the following decade was experienced in the number. It can be seen that there was a sustainable growth of 20000 people to reach at 50000 people in the figure at the end of the period.
