The bar charts illustrate how many genres of films were produced and tickets were sold between 1996 and 2000 in a country.
Overall, there was an increase in the number of films released over the period, while romance movies remained the same. In addition, people bought more tickets throughout the years examined to watch drama, comedy and fantasy ones but romance choices decreased.
The proportion of drama movies started at north of 25%, after which it saw a significant rise to exactly 35% in 2000. Similar changes can also be seen in the shares for comedy and fantasy films, which grew from 20% to 25% and from over 10% to about 16% respectively throughout the years given. Meanwhile, romance movies stayed stable at around 6% from 1996 to 2000.
Precisely 23% of viewers spent their money on comedy at the beginning of the period, with a subsequent marginal growth to approximately 24% in 2000. Similarly, but to lesser extent, the figure for drama and fantasy fans went up remarkably by just 1% and doubling that compared to the previous year of the period recorded in that order. Conversely, romance was the least favourite genre among them, with a downturn from 5% to just nearly 3% over the years covered.
