The given chart illustrates the overall number of minutes (in billions) of telephone calls in the UK, divided into three categories: local-landline, national and international-landline and mobiles, over a period of 10 years, starting from 1995.
Overall, from 1995 to 2001, the UK witnessed an upward trend of the number of minutes using telphone calls, while in the remaining three years the figure is on the downward trend with the growth throughout the years of national and international-landline.
During the first seven years, almost data depended on local-landline with 12000 minutes (millions) in 1995 and then continued to climb steadily to 17000 minutes in 2001, and national and international-landline. Meanwhile, opposite change can be seen in the amount of mobiles which took only a small part or almost none in the first year.
After that, the figure started decline and the distance between categorises is gradually shortened. Typically in 2004, the propotion of time using telephone calls in UK was only approximately 1000 minutes apart.
