In the first pie chart, the Australian spend most off their energy on heating accounting for 42% respectively. This proportion is 6 times higher than the energy consumption used for refrigeration which is only 7%. Cooling segment makes up the smallest part of 2%. This is half the energy that lighting takes up. Water heating is the second largest segment which makes up 30% of the pie chart. It is double the energy that Australian people spend on other appliances in their household.
In the second chart, water heating accounts for 32% of the greenhouse gas emission which is more than double the gas that only heating emits. The cooling and lighting are the two smallest segments in the pie which are only 3% and 8% respectively. These two contribute the least to the gas emissions. The proportion of refrigeration is 14% which is half the gas that other appliances give out into the atmosphere(28%)
