IELTS 10 Test 1 Writing Task 1 - Academic

The pie chart above illustrate the amount of energy which is consumed regularly by Australian household, whereas the below one demonstrates the CO2 emissions which are produced from every household energy category.

Overall, it can be obviously seen that the energy used for heating purposes comprises the vast majority of the total energy, which constitute nearly the half of the total gas emissions production.

It can be clearly seen that the highest energy consumption is devoted to heating; including water heating, that both together comprise 72%, with CO2 emissions of 47%. Cooling and lighting, conversely, constitute 2% and 4% respectively, which are the lowest category for energy consumption by Australian family, and both are featuring the lowest share CO2 emissions with 3% for the former and 8% for the later.

With regard to refrigeration and other appliances, which constitute 7% and 15% respectively, it is clear that they comprise about two fifths of the total gas emission in greenhouses, despite that they only account for one third of the total energy usage by Australian families.
