The information below gives details about household income and spending on food and clothes by an average family in one UK city in 2010 and 2013.

A lot of people suppose that connection among nations in terms of business and culture can bring a positive development. Others argue that national identities may be disappearing because of these contacts. Although I have stronger agreement to the former opinion, my essay is to discuss both points of view.

Strengthening business contacts can lead to the national identities lost, especially among the young. When the economy is expanded, new wind of culture easily flows into countries and therefore attracts the youth. It is not hard to see that in some countries, young people tend to have a keen interest in new dishes than traditional ones. Sometimes even traditional clothes are lose their powerful impact before fashionable styles. This results in the ignorance of national identities.

However, despite the cons, culture exchange and business contacts seems to do wonders more for country development. First of all, sharing culture helps countries attain benefits mutual. For instance, in some countries like Eastern countries, instead of talking off-topic a lot before reaching the purpose, citizens can learn the “straight-to-the-point” culture from Western one. Thanks to this, working proficiency can be optimized. In addition, working together brings essential competitive pressure to the countries. At this circumstance, to avoid the strict market rule, every single country needs to utilize their potentials. Thus, this is no one but these countries enjoy the windfall of their economy development.

In the end, it is true that there are several problems associated with strengthening working and cultural contacts. However, those problems only do a little damage to the development of countries. I personally think when people absorb brilliant value, these countries will be able to reap greater benefits.
