The information below gives details about household income and spending on food and clothes by an average family in one UK city in 2010 and 2013

Both charts compare the total income per household and their expenditure on food and clothes in a UK city, and the proportion of spending on five categories of food and clothes in the years 2010 and 2013

Overall, it is immediately obvious that total family income fell in 2013, while the expenditure on food and clothes increased from 2010. It is also noted that the proportion of money that household spend on fruits and vegetables increased significantly in 2013.
According to the table, the total household income saw a significant fall of 4000 pounds. Meanwhile, the figure for money spent on food and clothes rose slightly, at 15000 pounds in 2013.
As can be seen from the pie charts, a significant decrease of 10% could be seen in the rate of expenditure on clothes. In term of spending on food, there was a considerable increase of 15% in the figure for fruits and vegetables. However, the expenditure on meat and fish fell considerably by 10% to 255 in 2013. By contrast, the figure for spending on dairy products remained stable at 18%, but that for those on other food and drinks rise slightly by just only 2%.
