The line chart below shows the production of paper, wood pulp and sawn-wood in the UK from 1980 to 2000.
The given diagram depicts the production of three categories from forest including paper, wood pulp and sawn-wood in the UK from 1980 to 2000.
Overall, paper and packing was not only the category with the highest proportion, but it also increased most significantly. Additionally, while both sawn-wood and wood pulp decreased steadily, the production of sawn-wood declined to the lowest category by the end of the period.
In 1980, the production of paper and packaging started at approximately 240 million tons and witnessed a slight rise to 250 million tons over the next ten years. From 1990 onwards, its production grew remarkably and finally ended with the figure being recorded at 350 million tons in 2000.
Sawn-wood and wood pulp started the lower period with 200 million tons for sawn-wood and roughly 170 million tons for wood pulp, after which then it saw a considerable decline to the same figure (150) in 1990. Notably, while wood pulp rebounded to about 160 million tons over the next 10 years, sawn-wood decreased continuously to below 150 million tons and became the category with lowest production in 2000.
