The chart demonstrates the number of tourists paying a visit to a particular island in the Caribbean from 2010 to 2017.
As can be seen, the number of visitors coming to the island increased sharply. The number of travelers staying on cruise ships experienced a moderate growth while there was a gradual rise in the figure of those staying on the island.
First, 1 million people came to the island in 2010. A quarter of them chose to stay on ships whereas the rest stayed on the island. The next three years witnessed a considerable increase in the number of visitors. In the first year, the figure of those staying on the island stayed unchanged, then it witnessed a double rise in the next 2 years. On the other hand, the number of travelers choosing to stay on ships fluctuated from 0.25 to 0.5 million in the first three years.
In the latter period, more and more people visited the island and the figure reached 3.5 million in 2017. The number of visitors staying on ships experienced a noticeable growth from 2013 to 2017. Meanwhile, the figure of those staying on ships remained unchanged at 1.5 million except for a slight decrease in 2016.
