Overall, it is clearly that the number of tourists who came from other countries rose dramatically. In addition, most of abroad visitors were Japanese both in 1975 and 2005.
In 1975, the total number of overseas residents visiting Australia was 8.8 million. The figure for Japan accounted for 3.2 million- the highest number , while these amounts of tourist coming from South Korea and Europe were lower, 2,9 million and 1,1 million respectively. These figures for USA, Britain all were under 1 million. 0,3 million overseas inhabitants visiting to Australia were Chinese.
In 2005, Australia saw a dramatic increase in the total amount of abroad visitors, to 30,4 million. 12 million Japanese tourists visited to Australia in 2005, 11,2 million higher than China's figure- the lowest amount. The figure for South Korea rose to 9,1 million, about three times higher compared to 1995's amount. 1,1 millions abroad residents travelling to Australia were from USA, lower than Britain's amount( 2,9 million) and Europe's figure(4,5 million).
