The graph illustrated the consumption of oil and production from 1982 to 2006 in China. The data were measured in millions of barrels. Overall, it can be seen that the proportion of oil consumption was increased gradually while the trend of production has not changed.
Moving to a more detailed analysis, the number of consumptions were remained constantly for a decade, representing around 2 billion barrels. Afterwards, the oil was consumed by folks which increased slightly in 1994 to under 4 billion barrels. In contrast, the amount of oil production was higher than consumption from 1982 to 1990 although, the data was steady after four years.
Moreover, oil consumption continued to grow from 1994 to 2008. the oil production reached a peak in the last years, accounting for the barrels approximately 6 billion. Subsequently, the level of oil production was stable throughout the period.
