The line chart demonstrates the proportion of visitors to England who went to four different tourist traps in Brighton in the stage between 1980 and 2010. Overall, the percentage for tourist who visited pavilion and pier is rising over, while that figure for art gallery and festival witnessed decrease.
The percentage of tourists enjoyed pavilion and pier grew over time. To be more specific, the figure of visitors going to the pavilion significantly increased from 22% in 1980 to nearly half of total number of Brighton’s tourists in 1995, after which remarkably fell to 30% in 2010. The number of visitors that pavilion attracted in 1985 even surpass the figure for festival the previous dominant attraction at 28%. Similarly, the amount of tourist who went to pier underwent a slightly growth between 1980 and 1985 to 15% then gently decreased till reached the bottom which is 9% in 1990. And once again, the figure for pier continuously rose by the end of 1990.
In contrast, the figure for tourists visited art gallery and festival witnessed decrease tendency. The number of people went to art gallery used to drastically increase from 1980 to 1985 till reaching the peak which is 45% in 1985 and became the most common places for Brighton’s visitors. Afterwards, the number for art gallery did not stop declining until 2010 at the 8% which is the lowest rate among four categories. Although, experiencing the same trend with the figure for art gallery, the proportion of tourists visited festival was more likely to remain stable though years. This number was just slight decrease by 3% after 30 years.
