The figure elucidates the number of the ticket sales of several movies between 1980 and 2010. At first glance, it is evident that the most noticeable changes occurred for the amount of comedy ticket sales where it has a different pattern rather than others, and it is measured in millions.
To begin with, the total of ticket sales for action or adventure and animation jumped dramatically from 1980, which made up at just under 400 for action or adventure and at well below 200, through to 2010, which constituted to well above 1400 and to 1200 respectively. In accordance with other ticket sales, 1980 to 2010 witnessed a gradual upsurge for horror and documentary ticket sales in which it, initially, stood at just across 200 for horror and well less than 200 for documentary, and peaked to just over 400 and just beneath respectively in 2010.
In contrast, there was a tremendous drop for comedy ticket sales between 1980, which was at just above 600, and 2000, which accounted for well across 200. Afterwards, it climbed remarkably, soaring to well beyond 4000 by the end of the period shown.
