Overall, the trend of traveling has been increasing during the period, and the number of visitors from the UK was larger than those to the UK. In 1999, the most popular country visited by UK residents was France.
Regarding the line chart, at the beginning of the researching years, the number of people traveled abroad and to the UK was much the same, at 10 million and approximately 12 million respectively. Over the decades, the difference between them saw a larger increase. By 1999, the number of travelers going abroad was twofold than those going to the UK with over 50 million and just over 25% respectively.
In 1999, France experienced the largest number of visitors from the UK at over 10 million. Followed by Spain and the USA. An interesting point highlighted by the figure is that UK travelers to Turkey had the least number of people which was almost one fifth compared to France.
