maps
The two maps show the current overview of the Islip town centre and its future development plan respectively.
In the first map, the main road, which goes across the town centre from east to west, has two shops on each side. The shop in the North side is next to a countryside. Going east along the main road, there is a side road which leads to a park in the south of the town centre, and the side road in the west ends at a school. Two housing areas lies between the park and the school.
The main road will be changed in to a walkway, in which only pedestrians are permitted. The countryside, along with the shop next to it, is planed to be developed into a bus station, a shopping centre, and a car park. In addition, a new housing will be built on the east. Two sideways will be connected, establishing a dual carriageway which surrounds the new constructions, an old housing and a new housing in the south, including the narrowed park. The school will be outside of the dual carriageway, with one of the two old housing areas in its east.
