The maps below changes in the Spanish city of Castellon in recent times. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparations where relevant

The maps illustrate the differences between the Spanish city of Castellon in the year 2000 and today.

Looking at the maps, it can be clearly seen that there are significant changes to the city. In general, the city is modernized with increases in transport and entertainment facilities.

The road which was previously served for vehicles is now pedestrianized. In the middle of the city is the city centre, where a bike rental scheme was introduced. A tramline was constructed, connecting the city centre to the university, which remained unchanged since 2000. To the left of the university is a newly built hall of residence to provide accomodation for students. Below the hall of residence, there was a train station before it was replaced by the police station. The old station was deconstructed and moved to the right where the new train station is. The east side of the new station is where the construction site of an airport. The north east of the city is where a green area used to be, but the trees were cut down to make way for a new shopping centre. The old market above the road is now replaced by a new shop and on the east side of town, there is a new covered market instead. The formerly uninhabitated land near the port is now occupied with a newly constructed cinema, bars and clubs.
