The diagrams illustrate the similarities and differences that took place in Frenton in the 1990-2012 period. In general, while there were not any accommodations bbe removed during these years, some facilities were replaced and built in 2012.
Regarding similarities between 1990 and 2012, a school which was located in the Northern left corner of Frenton was maintained throughout this period. Likewise, there was a library situated on the left side of the High Street in both 1990 and 2012, which was in the middle of Frenton. In addition, a hospital by the library was maintained, whereas, there was the expansion of its all dimensions.
Looking at the diagram in more detail, it is noticeable that houses and playing fields with trees were replaced with blocks of flats in 2012. Also, café and park were converted into a hotel and golf course, which was surrounded by flats on the North, cinema, and supermarket in lieu of theatre and shops in 1990. On the left side of the High Street, a bank, which was located next to the hospital, was knocked down and a restaurant was constructed in this space. Trees on the South were cut down for the construction of a technopark.
