The percentage of female members of parliament in European countries (2000-2012)
The line graph illustrates the proportion of women parliament member in Germany, Italy, U.K, France and Belgium
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that all countries experienced an upward trend over the period. Therein Italy being the country was the highest and The U.K and Belgium was the lowest.
In 2000, Nearly 35% of the member parliament was female, compared to stand at just over 25% in Italy and 25% in France. From 2000 to 2004, the number of female members in all three nations increased, therein France being the country had the strongest rising and reached a peak of about 36% in 2004. Meanwhile, the quantity of female in Italy rose to about 10%, while the figures for Germany didn't change too much. Since 2004, the percentage of female parliament members in Italy và Germany went up at under 40% and around 37% in 2012, respectively. By contrast, the data of France rapidly drop to approximately 29% in 2008 before it slightly escalated at over 30%
Around 17.5% of the parliament members in Belgium were female while this number in the U.K only had about 3% in 2000. During 12 years, the figures for both were terribly increased and similar to approximately 28% in 2012
