Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the share of people living in cities has highest figures over the given period. it is also clear that the percentage of people living in rural areas witnessing a decline.

In 1995, about 50% people born in australia who chose to live in cities, compared to 60% people born outside australia living there. While, the figure for people born in australia and outside australia living in towns were the lowest, with their figures standing at almost 20% and 10% respectively. The percentage of people who were born outside australia living in countries was 40%, which was 10% higher than that of those born in australia.

By 2010, the share of people living in cities still dominated the bar chart, with its figure for people born in australia and people born outside australia standing at more than 60% and 80% in the given order. The quantity of people born in australia living in towns was nearly 20%, which is identical to that of people living in rural areas. However, the figure for people born outside australia living in rural areas was lower than that of people living in towns, at around 8% and 10% in turn.
