Overall the percentage of visitor from Canada and other countries decreased steadily during the period while the figure for Chinese people increased significally. It can be seen that the proportion of Canadians remained the highest over the period.
In 1998 more than half of visitors to US was from Canada whereas the percentage of Chinese tourists choosing US to visit only stood at around 10%. However the proportion of people from Canada decreased substantially from 53% to 40% of total people visiting the US in 4 years later. Meanwhile the figure for China rose dramatically to about 30% in 1990 and then grew to exactly 30% in 1992.
As for Mexico the percentage of Mexicans travelling to the US remained steady about 25% in the 4 years period, despite decreased to a fifth in 1990 before rose up to 26% in 1992. Lastly, other countries was only of a tiny fraction but also saw a decrease during the period.
