The pie charts below show average household expenditure in Hong Kong and Britain in the year 2000

The two pie Charts compare the amount of money spent on various household expenses in Hong Kong and Britain during the period of 2000.

We can see that in Hong Kong the greatest proportion of Expenditure was on housing, with exactly 32%, while in Britain, it was 18% of the total. In Hong Kong, there was 9% of money spent on transport in one family but in Britain, it was almost doubled (17)%.

In contrast, In britain the largest proportion of expense was on other goods and services, was 36%, as compared to Hong Kong, which was 28%. Food came on the second place in Britain, at 22%, whereas proportion of money spent on food in Hong Kong was higher than the Britain (27%). In both regions, clothing consumed very less amount of money , which was 7% and 4% in Britain and Hong Kong respectively.

Overall, the expenditure on other goods and services was the largest proportion in both countries, whereas clothing consumed less amount of money.
